About Inside Consulting | Performance Improvement Consulting Firm

About Inside Consulting

Senior Advisors Who Do the Work.
Results That Show Up in Your Financials.

Inside Consulting is a boutique performance improvement firm built for PE-backed and middle market companies. We embed with your team, execute the work ourselves, and tie our fees to the results we deliver.

Who We Are

A boutique firm built for middle market and PE-backed companies that need measurable margin improvement, fast.

Inside Consulting was founded in 2005 on a premise that still holds today: mid-market companies deserve the same caliber of strategic and operational talent that Fortune 500s take for granted, without the overhead, the learning curve, or the risk of paying for recommendations that never get implemented.

Our team includes former McKinsey and BCG consultants. But what distinguishes us is how we work. We don't hand off a slide deck and move on. We embed directly alongside your team, running sourcing events, executing pricing initiatives, and driving value at every stage until results show up in your financial statements.

We work across strategic sourcing, pricing optimization, and revenue leakage recovery, with deep sector experience in healthcare, industrials, and technology. Whether you are preparing for a sale, driving post-acquisition value creation, or need more margin from your cost structure, we know where to look in businesses like yours.

Have questions about how engagements work? See our FAQ →

We Embed. We Execute.
Our consultants work alongside your team, not above them. We run the workstreams, manage the vendor negotiations, and drive implementation from start to finish.
Fees Tied to Results.
Our fees are structured around the value we deliver. We put our compensation at risk from day one so our incentives and yours are aligned from the first call to the last dollar of realized savings.
Built for the Middle Market.
We serve companies with $50M to $1B in revenue across PE-backed platforms, founder-owned businesses, and publicly traded subsidiaries. We know this market, its leverage points, its constraints, and where the real value hides.

How We Hold Ourselves Accountable

Not aspirational statements. Operational commitments that govern every engagement we take.

$
Client ROI First
Our benchmark is return on consulting. We hold ourselves accountable for delivering incremental value at a multiple of our fees, and we don't consider an engagement successful until the savings appear in your financial statements.
Incentive Alignment
We put fees at risk. Our incentives are aligned with yours from day one, not after a discovery phase, but from the first engagement call through the last dollar of realized savings.
Data Driven
We let the facts lead. Every recommendation and action is grounded in empirical analysis. We apply advanced methods including Linear Performance Pricing, Multivariate Regression Modeling, and Zero-Based Budgeting to surface insights standard approaches miss.
Results, Not Recommendations
Our work is measured in financial statements, not PowerPoint decks. From hypothesis to implementation, we partner with client teams and do the work directly, running sourcing events, executing pricing pilots, and driving value at every step.
Cross-Functional Lens
Most consulting work stays in one function. We work across Finance, Product, Operations, and Sales simultaneously, because the greatest value is often found at the intersections, not in isolated initiatives.
Customized Approach
Every engagement starts with your situation, not a template. We apply proven methodologies and proprietary tools selectively, focusing energy on the issues with the highest impact on your bottom line.

How We Are Different

Our team brings top-tier consulting backgrounds together with real operational and leadership experience. We've run businesses, not just advised them.

Microeconomic rigor: We apply microeconomic principles to quantify leverage and model implications, finding savings even in situations that appear low-leverage on the surface.
Advanced analytics: Linear Performance Pricing, Multivariate Regression Modeling, and Zero-Based Budgeting surface insights that standard approaches consistently miss.
Hypothesis-driven focus: We stay focused on the issues that actually move the needle, which is why our results and client ROI consistently outperform those of traditional consultants.
Proprietary tools: Our diagnostic scoring tool prioritizes effort from day one, and our live-bidding platform delivers pricing transparency and reverse-auction capability most clients have never had access to.
Instead of... How Inside Consulting Is Different What That Means for You
Relying solely on internal staff Pattern recognition across dozens of identical engagements. Ability to run multiple workstreams in parallel without competing with day-to-day operations. Faster time to results. Better absolute performance, with no learning curve tax.
Individual freelancers Proven methodologies refined through team-based problem solving. Breadth of expertise across the full partnership, not a single generalist. Better ROI and greater impact in the same timeframe. Less coordination burden. Ability to tackle larger, more complex issues.
Traditional strategy consulting firms We know where to look in mid-market businesses and stay engaged until value is realized. We do the work ourselves, cost-effectively, with lean overhead. Better ROI. Lower burden on your team to interpret recommendations and figure out implementation on their own.
Mid-market financial consultancies We focus on operational value delivery, working alongside your team. Our expertise spans pricing, sourcing, revenue growth, and integration, not just financial modeling. Significantly greater value realized in the same timeframe. Your team gets leverage without having to translate targets into an execution plan.
Other mid-market boutique consultancies Proven track record since 2005. Versatile approach that applies across pricing, revenue growth, sourcing, merger integration, and other complex operational problems. Confidence in results. Faster overall value delivery and lower transformation risk. Tactical profit improvement that de-risks larger change programs.
